DKN EnduRun Folding Treadmill

Is The DKN EnduRun Folding Treadmill A Space-Saving Option?

DKN EnduRun Folding TreadmillThere is always a risk with folding treadmills that you will end up with something that is quite flimsy or limiting, but that doesn’t seem to be the case with the specification of the DKN EnduRun Folding Treadmill.

There is a lot here that suggests that users will get a more professional experience with gym-level programming and a secure deck.

But, there is still the promise of a space-saving design. So, how do the two work together, and are buyers impressed?

The Pros and Cons of this DKN EnduRun Folding Treadmill

Pros:

  •  A large, well-cushioned deck that is nice and stable
  •  A high top-speed of 22kmph and incline of 15% to increase the difficulty
  •  Lots of data on the console to help users train
  •  The whole machine is large and strong for tougher sessions

Cons:

  •  The combination of all the Quick Keys and other controls could get a bit confusing
  •  The space-saving design doesn’t save that much space.
  •  Some risks of squeaking at certain levels of the incline

The deck and stability of the DKN EnduRun Folding Treadmill stand out as key features.

The deck on this running machine is 53cm wide and 151 long, so should be large enough to handle longer strides while running at high speeds.

The highest speed of the belt is 22kmph for faster sprints and there are also inline options up to 15%. The big emergency stop and clip-on that panel bring a little added security there.

It is also a comfortable deck to run on with all the cushioning provided. People are using this for “Couch to 5k” with success. There is the idea that this is for serious competitors and high-intensity training.

However, there are also plenty of novice users getting the hang of this DKN treadmill and making great progress.

The workout options don’t stop there. This system is compatible with Kinomap to diversify your schedule and play with different modes.

You can also enhance the experience with the dual water bottle holder, tablet holder, and music port for an mp3 player.

There is also a comment that it is “built like a brick”, with others adding that it is generally pretty quiet. One user noticed a squeak on one inline setting but appears to be in a minority there.

There are considerations with this DKN Folding Treadmill and the display and folding mechanism.

There is no doubt that other DKN machines are more inviting in the way they display multiple streams of information. This one doesn’t have bright colours and bold figures.

Instead, you get smaller figures that aren’t as easy to decipher if you are new to this sort of training.

You can see speed, time, distance, calories, pulse, and the status of the incline. Below this screen is another panel with all the buttons to adjust the speed and incline.

There are simple plus or minus controls to take it up or down like on a remote, but this wasn’t enough. There are also “Quick Keys” as additional buttons for specific increments. This seems a bit unnecessary and there isn’t one for the highest speed.

Also, is it really a space-saving folding design? You can raise the deck via an assisted lift and roll the machine into a more suitable location for the rest of the day.

But, the deck only folds so far and stops at an angle somewhere around 50 degrees from the floor. The company says that this helps you reduce the footprint to 139cm, which isn’t that big a difference.

What does this all mean for the final verdict on this DKN EnduRun?

As you may have expected, it isn’t possible for this gym-ready running machine to be a fully space-saving option too. The claims about the folding mechanisms and the storage options are overblown and could be a deal-breaker for some buyers.

But, if this isn’t an issue and you can afford to leave the machine out, there is a lot to appreciate in the design stability and the workout provided by this running machine.

If you are happy to handle the learning curve and play with the options, this DKN treadmill could be a good match for your fitness requirements.
