Is The Salus Sports 1300W X-lite Nex-Gen Treadmill A Good Entry-Level Model?

Salus Sports X-lite Nex-Gen TreadmillThe Salus Sports 1300W X-lite Nex-Gen Treadmill looks like the sort of running machine that many users have seen before. There is a basic belt, a large console with plenty of settings and programs and a few comfort features.

There are high hopes for this option because of the full feature list and low price point. But, does it deliver?

What are the Pros and Cons to this Salus Sports Treadmill?

Pros:

  • User friendly features for a better experience
  • Fairly simple controls

Cons:

  • The old adage of “you get what you pay for”
  • It doesn’t accommodate all users

The Salus Sports X-lite Nex-Gen Treadmill is definitely a beginner model for those that want an easy, affordable start.

Salus Sports 1300W X-lite NexGen Treadmill

The biggest benefit with this treadmill is the range of programmes on offer. There are 99 pre-set interval options, 10 quick-start sessions, customization options and the ability to alter the speed and incline. The incline has three levels and the speed goes up to 14 mph. This is appreciated by beginners that want to start slow and build on their fitness and abilities.

With 99 programmes, there is certainly room to grow. The manufactures also seem to have put some thought into the controls, as there are simple hand controls so newcomers can switch between options with ease.

The specification of this treadmill suggests that there is a lot on offer to help users work out with ease and meet their goals. Salus Sports certainly can’t be faulted on their attempts to throw everything at this running machine.

There are lots of elements to make the experience more comfortable, such as the drink holder, music system, tablet shelf and towel rail. The music system isn’t brilliant, but is fine for the price. There are also safety features, like the pause function and soft-drop hydraulics on the folding frame.

Unfortunately, this Salus Sports X-lite Folding Treadmill does fall short in a number of areas.

The designers may have thrown everything at this treadmill machine to see what sticks, but it seems that some efforts were more successful than others. Three issues stand out here. The first is the build quality, with reports of the plastic casing cracking under pressure and the water bottle holder breaking.

The second is the temperamental touchscreen. On a good day, this is intuitive and easy to use. On a bad day, it doesn’t really function that well at all. Finally there is the issue with the stride length. The running deck seems a little short and there are taller users that struggle to keep pace.

Summary: what does this all mean for the final recommendation on this Salus Sports Nex-Gen Treadmill?

There is the sense that this home gym equipment does just enough to get by, and provides an affordable option for the average user. But, the flaws start to show when users really test it out. Some people love it and appreciate that it will only do so much at the price point.

They can still achieve a good workout and progress nicely with all those settings and helpful features. Others will be distracted by the build quality and limitations. In the end, the Salus Sports X-lite treadmill could suit many newcomers, but not all.
